Calvary Sunday school kids “get netted”

On Rally Day 2010, the children of Calvary Lutheran Church, Edina, Minnesota, decided to join the Lutheran Malaria Initiative effort. Each Sunday morning the children, their families, and many others form the congregation met together for an intergenerational opening of Sunday school. During that time they learned about malaria and what it does to families and communities in equatorial parts of the world. The children began to bring in offerings; for every $10 that came in, the kids placed a mini mosquito net on a world map. The initial goal for the ELCA’s malaria campaign was $700 by Mother’s Day. In the end, they raised more than $800. Photo provided by Calvary Lutheran Church
