The women of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Gaylord, Minnesota, recently produced 110 “Little Dresses for Africa.” In order to have the dresses ready to present to the Rev. J.J. Mbatha from the Vryheid Circuit of the Evangelical Church in Southern Africa during his visit to Minnesota in the late fall, these women “worked with great dedication over the past several months,” according to Pastor Bill Nelsen.

Pastor Mbatha and Moses Mahlangu were in Minnesota in connection with the active partnership between the Vryheid Circuit in the Zululand area of South Africa and the Minnesota Valley Conference of the Southwestern Minnesota Synod of the ELCA. Mbatha, pictured here at St. Paul’s November 13 worship service, was able to take all the dresses home with him as extra luggage.
