Cherwien to direct mass choir tune-up
David Cherwien, director of the National Lutheran Choir (NLC) and cantor at Mount Olive Lutheran Church (ELCA), Minneapolis, will be the featured conductor at the NLC’s annual Choir Tune-Up February 5, 2011, at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church, 9201 Normandale Blvd., Bloomington, Minnesota. Registration begins at 8:30 am; the program runs from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
The choir will rehearse using such literature as “Jesus on the Mountain Peak,” by Mark Sedio; “God So Loved the World,” by Bob Chilcott; “O Sacrum Con Vivium,” by James Biery; and “The Lord is My Shepherd,” by Thomas Matthews.
