Thrivent’s educational programs again recognized
Thrivent Financial for Lutherans recently received two 2011 Excellence in Financial Literacy Education (EIFLE) Awards. Given by the Institute for Financial Literacy, the awards honor individuals and organizations for their efforts to enhance financial literacy education among Americans of all walks of life.
Thrivent Financial took top honors in the “Education Program of the Year — Adult General Category” for the workshop “College Matters: Ways to Avoid Costly Mistakes and Discover Funding Sources.” It also won in the “Education Program of the Year — Adult Investing and Retirement Planning Category” for its workshop “My Retirement Matters.”
The “College Matters” workshop seeks to help parents avoid costly mistakes that can arise from choosing a college that isn’t a good fit for their child.
Its “My Retirement Matters” workshop is designed to help participants clarify their retirement vision, review retirement trends, consider potential retirement income and expenses, and identify steps they can take now to secure their retirement.
The EIFLE Award acknowledges innovation and quality of financial literacy education efforts and the commitment of those that offer them.
