Hymn Festival combines Veterans Day and Thanksgiving to honor both God and country

St. James Lutheran Church, 460 West Annapolis Street, West Saint Paul, will join its commemoration of Veterans Day and Thanksgiving in a community hymn sing November 13 at 4 p.m. With the theme, “Hymns of Thanks for God and Country,” the hymn festival “will combine traditional and contemporary hymns of faith related to our gratitude to God and our country,” explained the Rev. Richard Stadler, senior pastor.
Participants in the hymn sing will be accompanied by the congregation’s recently dedicated organ, a brass ensemble, a handbell choir, and various vocal ensembles from St. James.
Refreshments will follow the hour-long hymn sing. The event is free and open to the public; a freewill offering will be taken with all proceeds to support veterans and their families. For more information, visit www.saintjameslutheran.com.
