Lutheran scholarships available to LCMS youth

The Lutheran Community Foundation (LCF) announced the availability of scholarship awards from The Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church of North Minneapolis Scholarship Program. These scholarship opportunities are made possible through a permanently endowed, charitable fund held at the LCF, established by the former Lutheran Church–Missouri Synod (LCMS) congregation of Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Founded in 1888, Immanuel Evangelical maintained a strong commitment to education. A school affiliated with the church was founded in the same year to provide English language and religious instruction to immigrant families. At the time of its closing in November 2001, the congregation established this fund.
Candidates for the scholarship awards must be members of a congregation in the Minnesota South District of the LCMS. They must be in their third or fourth year of full-time study at an undergraduate college or university of the LCMS, or enrolled in a full-time post-baccalaureate Lutheran Scholarships program at an LCMS college, university, or seminary. Candidates must also be pursuing a career in professional ministry or lay ministry.
Complete eligibility requirements and applications for the scholarships are available by contacting the LCF at 1-800/365-4172. Applications may also be downloaded from the Foundation’s website at www.TheLCF.org/grants/scholarship_applications.
