WELS seeks to sell one of its two office buildings
The Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod leadership, in response to budget issues, decided at its last churchwide convention to sell its Synod Administration Building in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and move to a less expensive space. A purchase agreement was signed, and church leaders found and bought a new building. When the original sale fell through, the synod was left with two properties.
According to a member of the committee overseeing efforts to resolve the situation, both the Mayfair Road property and the new property in Pewaukee have been placed on the market with separate brokers. The brokers believe that both properties have significant value, but it may take time before a buyer steps forward with an offer. All options are being considered.
