Why I support Metro Lutheran with time and money
It's the scope
My membership on the board of directors of Metro Lutheran is an illustration of the broad scope of readers that the news service seeks to serve.
As a member of a smaller Lutheran fellowship, it is good to represent my church tradition through the only independent Lutheran publication in the United States (maybe the world) that reports the news of our entire denominational commmunity.
The series on Lutherans in America, which will continue through 2017, is of special fascination to me as a historian, and the articles are a unique avenue for us to understand one another better and to grow in appreciation for the great variety within our common confessional heritage.
Plus, where else would I learn about the upcoming lutefisk suppers?
Robert Lee was elected to the board of directors in 2008.
