AFLC seminary to offer summer institute
The Association Free Lutheran Theological Seminary (AFLTS) will host its Summer Institute of Theology August 6-10 with the theme “Remembering Our Creator.” The institute is an annual extension of the seminary’s regular programming.
The institute provides an opportunity for continuing education for pastors and lay people. The seminary’s faculty and guest lecturers provide content.
The faculty line up and course offering for 2012’s institute includes the Rev. Jerry Moan, Studies in Thessalonians; Dr. Francis Monseth, Introduction to Christian Ethics; the Rev. Peter Franz, Studies in Genesis; the Rev. Jason Holt, Ministry to Youth; and the Rev. Robert Lee, History and Aims of the Association Free Lutheran Churches.
Licensed pastors in the AFLC are required to complete eight credits annually to maintain a clergy license. A Certificate of Pastoral Studies is awarded to those who successfully complete 96 credit hours.
The theme of the 2012 institute comes from Ecclesiastes 12:1a: “Remember also your Creator in the days of your youth.”
AFLTS is located in Plymouth, Minnesota, on a campus that includes the national denominational headquarters and a Bible school.
