Mayer Lutheran High School announces online school option

Mayer Lutheran High School, located in Mayer, Minnesota, recently announced the founding of Genesis Virtual Academy (GVA), Minnesota’s first full-service Christian online school serving grades six through twelve.
GVA offers a complete, accredited middle and high school curriculum for full-time students and for those seeking to take additional high school coursework in addition to their traditional school program. It provides instruction with a Christian worldview and will emphasize positive, nurturing relationships between the student and the teacher.
“I am enthusiastic about the possibilities that Genesis Virtual Academy presents to kids here in Minnesota and around the world,” shared Joel Landskroener, the executive director of Mayer Lutheran High School. “Christian education — anytime, anywhere — will be a hallmark of our online school. No longer will geography be a detriment to families desiring an education with a Biblical worldview for their children. If they have an Internet connection, they can study at Genesis Virtual Academy.”
“As a ministry of Mayer Lutheran High School, Genesis Virtual Academy will allow us to fulfill the school’s mission of preparing the next generation of Christian leaders in a new and exciting way,” added Landskroener. “Currently, our students enroll from the west metro area of the Twin Cities and study on our campus in Mayer. Now, students from anywhere in the world will experience the rich, meaningful educational opportunities that our traditional students have enjoyed throughout the past 50 years on our campus.”
Genesis Virtual Academy is enrolling students for the fall of 2012 through the website at www.genesisva.org.
