Augustana care offered Thrivent matching grant
Augustana Care in Minneapolis was recently awarded a $25,000 challenge grant from the Thrivent Financial for Lutherans Foundation. For every $2 raised by Augustana Care from now through November 30, 2012, the foundation will provide $1 in supplemental funds, up to $25,000.
The grant will be used to strengthen Augustana Care’s ability to raise philanthropic support. The organization offers a full spectrum of services in health care, housing, and community-based services for older adults.
“Thrivent’s grant is helping us to take the next step in building philanthropic support and engagement organization-wide, preparing us to reach and serve more elders in the future,” said Kay Gudmestad, vice president of fund development for Augustana Care.
“We are delighted to assist Augustana Care through this grant,” said Tim Schwan, vice president of the foundation. “We trust that this support will strengthen Augustana Care’s ministry to the older adults it serves.”
Eligible grant applicants include Lutheran congregations, regional divisions of the three largest church bodies, small church bodies, high schools, colleges, universities, seminaries, camps, campus organizations, and other independent, Lutheran organizations or institutions.
