A century-and-a-half of service for Ecumen

On November 1, more than 300 guests celebrated at Ecumen’s “There’s No Place Like Home” 150th Anniversary Gala at The Great Hall in St. Paul. The evening honored the Shoreview-based organization’s 150 years of history, while also looking forward to its continued innovation in changing aging. Ecumen provides senior housing and services in the East Metro and across Minnesota. The group developed out of the U.S.-Dakota War of 1862, when Lutheran missionaries provided foster care services. While its service to children ended years ago, Ecumen has evolved into an innovative nonprofit that is devoted to seniors.
