LSS announces recipients of its 2013 Financial Advocacy Awards
Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota’s Financial Counseling Services recently announced the winners of the organization’s 2013 Financial Advocacy Awards. Recipients will be honored at a program June 13 at the LSS Center for Changing Lives (CFCL).
The Financial Advocacy Awards, according to the mission statement, are awarded to “recognize people or organizations that serve to improve economic justice and advocate for people and families in vulnerable financial situations.”
The 2013 honorees are Community Action Duluth; Sen. Al Franken (DFL-Minn); Prentiss Cox, University of Minnesota Law Clinic and Member of the CFPB Consumer Advisory Board; Lower Sioux Indian Community (Darin Minkel and the Tribal Council); Ridgewater College Agriculture Department; and Kathleen Butts, Plymouth Youth Center High School’s Director of Education.
The Financial Advocacy Awards program will be held in the CFCL’s Centrum 104, 2400 Park Avenue, Minneapolis, at 3:30 p.m. For more information about the program or to RSVP, contact Marie Garmoe at marie.garmoe@lssmn.org.
