JustGifts Market provides holiday alternative
The tenth annual JustGifts Market, an alternative Christmas Market, will be held at St. Barnabas Lutheran Church, 15600 Old Rockford Road, Plymouth, Minnesota, on December 7 and 8. Hours on Saturday will be 9 a.m.-7 p.m., and on Sunday, 9 a.m.-1 p.m.
“This is our tenth market, and we have been pleased that the amount raised for charitable gifts — primarily gifts through ELCA Good Gifts and Global Mission, Minneapolis Area Synod, and Global Health Ministries — has increased each year,” says Lois Troemel, event coordinator.
The Market features charitable gifts such as medical supplies for Demsa Hospital and clean water in Nigeria, micro-loans for women in India and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, a grinder for Haiti, food for orphans, school fees for children. In addition to the charitable gifts, globally handcrafted items from Ten Thousand Villages will be for sale as well as hand crafts and baked goods from members.
