Retired bishop wins peacemaking award
The Minnesota Fellowship of Reconciliation (MN FOR) will honor Bishop Emeritus Lowell O. Erdahl as “Peacemaker of the Year” at its annual fall conference.
“Erdahl was chosen for his longstanding public witness against war and to nonviolence as the most effective means to resolving conflict on personal as well as national levels,” according to a MN FOR spokesperson. “His public voice for progressive, nonviolent social change has inspired Lutherans and non-Lutherans alike.”
The event honoring Erdahl will be from 2-5 p.m., on Sunday, November 3, 2013, in room 111 of Anderson Center at Hamline University, on the northeast corner of Snelling and Englewood Avenues in St. Paul. The public is welcome.
The Minnesota Fellowship of Reconciliation is the regional affiliate of the national FOR, the largest and oldest peace organization in the U.S., which will be celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2015.
