Attacking the problem at its root
Sharon Magnuson, the associate director of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America’s (ELCA) World Hunger program laid out the church body’s commitment to address hunger in a variety of ways — direct relief, education, advocacy, and development — at a January hunger-related event at Immanuel Lutheran Church (ELCA), Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Immanuel gives away 20 percent of offerings to other organizations, including ELCA World Hunger.
