Former Fort Wayne sem president honored
The Rev. Dr. Dean O. Wenthe, former president of Concordia Theological Seminary—Fort Wayne, was recently honored by colleagues and peers with a Festschrift, or “celebration publication.” The Restoration of Creation in Christ: Essays in Honor of Dean O. Wenthe was written to celebrate his 40 years of service to the seminary.
Wenthe served as president of Concordia Theological Seminary from 1996 to 2011, and is currently professor of exegetical theology. He was most recently named interim president of the Concordia University System.
A graduate of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1971, Wenthe received his Th.M. from Princeton Theological Seminary in 1975 and an M.A. and Ph.D. from the University of Notre Dame, Indiana, in 1985 and 1991 respectively.
This collection of essays in The Restoration of Creation in Christ not only illuminates the central accents of Wenthe’s teaching but also considers how God restores His creation, in Christ. It speaks to Wenthe’s teaching as a biblical theologian.
The Restoration of Creation in Christ: Essays in Honor of Dean O. Wenthe is available from Concordia Publishing House by visiting cph.org or by calling 1-800/325-3040. Concordia Publishing House is the official publishing arm of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod.
