LINC–Twin Cities hires new ED
The Board of Directors of LINC—Twin Cities recently announced the appointment of the Rev. Dr. Fungchatou (“Fung”) Lo as its executive director, according to Stephanie Hofhenke, the group’s communications director. According to its mission statement, LINC—Twin Cities strives to “equip Christians to live in relationship with their communities, partnering with their communities toward their holistic development.” It is associated nationally with the Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS).
Fung Lo earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees in social work and a doctorate in urban studies. He also taught social work as a university professor for 10 years.
Lo was ordained in 2007, while serving as vicar and director of Hmong Ministries at Grace Lutheran Church in Brooklyn Park. In 2007, he was called by LCMS World Mission to assist the tsunami recovery efforts in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. After two years of recovery ministry, gospel outreach, and church planting, he relocated to Cambodia where he continued the work of church planting and leadership training.
Lo’s installation will be held at 10:45 a.m. on January 26, 2014, at Grace Lutheran Church, 6810 Winnetka Avenue North, Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. A lunch will follow the installation. Hofhenke stresses that everyone is welcome.
